Are You Our Next Great Vendor?
When TriAxis, Inc. was founded in 2002, by four industry professionals, Brian DeMatteo, Joseph Lawrence, Bill Moulin and Tom Mumford, it was to extend their experience with infrastructure solutions. In relatively short order, it became clear that the market was shifting to a data driven model and, in response to this, so did TriAxis' choice of vendors. We chose to specialize in more emergin brands where the ROI and TCO were easily measurable and quickly attained. This model served both TriAxis and its clients very well ever since.
Many of these emerging vendors actually 'emerged' and became household names, and yes, are now often seen as legacy vendors. They include EqualLogic (purchased by Dell), Data Domain (purchased by EMC, which was subsequently purchased by Dell forming Dell Technologies, Inc.), Compellent Technologies (also purchased by Dell), Archivas (purchased by Hitachi Data Systems), Diligent Technologies (purchased by IBM) and Avamar Technologies (also purchased by EMC), to name some of the more notable start-ups. And just recently, both Nimble Storage and SimpliVity were acquired by Hewlett Packard Enterprises. Note that SimpliVity was the second successful startup by founder Doron Kempel to be acquired. His first one, Diligent, is purportedly the most successful storage product line that IBM has purchased to date.
Not all of TriAxis' choices were "home runs", but enough were that we have gotten pretty good at picking and choosing with whom we feel bring the value that we, on behalf of our customers, demand.
We don't just simply "go with the flow." Rather, we choose the vendors we think best fit our business and our clients'. Is your company one of them? |
