Learn More About LTFS
Here are a few things you need to know about LTFS.
Thanks to LTFS, tape is alive and thriving today!
The LTFS Format Specification and filesystem implementation were released on April 12, 2010 and has improved since. Now with support for sparse files; persistent file identifiers; virtual extended attributes for filesystem metadata and control - and defined minimum and recommended blocksize values for LTFS volumes.
The net of it is simple: with the overall low cost of tape storage and an easy-to-use LTFS, Overland Storage has the libraries that take advantage of both with even more value coming with the release of LTO 8 drive technology.
