IaaS - Infrastructure-as-a-Service

Securely store your information with storage options that provide built-in encryption.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) storage solutions are designed to deliver secured, scalable, and durable storage for businesses looking to achieve efficiency and scalability within their backup and recovery environments, without the need for an on-premises infrastructure.
Our offering from TriAssist Services utilizes AWS' S3 for the cloud storage component.
It's designed for 99.999999999% durability. This is often referred to as "eleven nines of durability" and is not to be confused with availability. They claim, “If you store 10,000 objects with us, on average we may lose one of them every 10 million years or so. This storage is designed in such a way that we can sustain the concurrent loss of data in two separate storage facilities.”
Whether that can be translated into actionable data, we're not sure. But we do know that AWS is ranked first again in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for cloud infrastructure services in Q2 2016, followed by Microsoft, IBM and Google.

Amazon has been a leader in this market since 2006, owing to its wide array of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (IaaS) offerings, and continues to grow faster than the market, thus consistently improving its share.
What it means to us is, several of our "aaS" (-as-a-Service) offerings rely on this durability for both compute and storage. But also for availability due to their locations all over the United States. |
